March 24th 2020

Hello everyone,
I know I haven’t posted in a while, been very busy with work and haven’t really found the time to type anything up.

So with everything that is happening with this Coronavirus (Covid 19) recently and that I have had to quarantine myself at home due to the fact that I came down with a suspected chest infection with a cough and a temperature.
I can safely say I have never been so bored in my life but as a safety precaution I was advised not to go in to work as I couldn’t be sure that it was a chest infection. There is only so much TV and films one person can watch.

Whilst I am off and due back to work soon, I have decided that eventually this week that I will be doing some baking as I really want a coffee and walnut cake and also seeing as it is difficult to get hold of a loaf of bread in the shops at the moment due to people panic buying, I have decided to make my own bread.
Now the last time I made bread it didn’t turn out so well and I honestly don’t know how this will turn out this time but I am willing to try anything if it means saving a bit of money. Just hope that I still have my loaf tins. I will keep you all updated on this.

So for now this is me signing off, stay safe everyone and just keep the loved ones safe too!!

Why I haven't posted recently

So as I haven’t posted in ages, I can to the conclusion that whilst I’m on holiday this week, that this was the perfect opportunity to update my blog and also the visitors as to what I have been up to since my last post.

So this year has been tough for me but now that I’m in a much better place not just physically but also mentally as well. I had gotten into debt via my local council from my council tax payments not coming out of my account, it went on for months and before I realised it there where Enforcement Agents involved. And I can tell you now, they will not give up until they have what they want. The debt was close to £1000, and I felt that there was no way I was ever going to be able to pay this off.

Luckily I was able to up my hours in work for a few months whilst also doing overtime in other stores, just so that I could make a general payment. As soon as I had made that first payment, it felt like this was a massive weight off my shoulders, even though I still had a lot to pay off, seeing the amount due decrease was heaven. Then after speaking to the Agent assigned to my case, we agreed on a payment plan to pay the final amount which only took me a further 2 months to pay.
Now I am very pleased to say that, as of the end of June 2019 I am debt free and I do not have to worry about them coming back around to my property.

This whole situation this year has caused a huge amount of stress and anxiety, which I am pretty sure has been the cause of all the chest pains I had (which even put me in hospital) and all the constant headaches. It has also taught me that if you work hard even though you will feel crap, suffer with anxiety over Enforcement Agents and even suffer with depression as a result of this, is that eventually you will come out the other side. I will hold my hands up and admit that I ignored a few phone calls and house visits from them; by doing this it just made things a lot worse for my own health and well being. But you must keep in contact with them and set up a payment plan. This I am speaking from experience.
If anyone who would like to know more, please feel free to message me☺️.

So after months of feeling rubbish and neglecting myself a lot, I decided that whilst I can afford it that I will go and hair my hair cut due to not having it done since April 2018. Now it feels amazing and I am thinking that whilst I am off this week, a massive pampering session is in order, where for once I finally do something for me!

So for now that this it and will update again very soon!

So where do I begin, well I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year. I had a quiet and relaxing Christmas spent with some family, only had Christmas day off as I was worked Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. My new year on the other hand was very different indeed, I came down ill on new year’s eve with what I thought was just a headache but ended up being very sick to the point I was sent home from work the next day, which never happens (has only happened a few times, 5 years ago and that only happened twice). It’s not very often that I phone in sick either, as I like to think I can work with any illness unless I have been told to otherwise.

So this year I turned 27 on the 3rd January, scary to think that I am now closer to 30 rather than 20 now but never mind. This year is all focused on continuing my writing and potentially starting piecing together ideas for a book I want to write.

Today (4th Jan) I told a colleague in work what I am trying to do, what my aim is and where I would like to see this going as I don’t really want to be stuck in a job that I really don’t want to be doing anymore, but will stick it out until I can get to where I want to be. We were discussing blogs and it got mentioned that my colleague wanted to start some sort of blog, as they will be leaving us this year and going travelling. I mentioned maybe they should start a vlog (video log) whilst they are exploring different countries or maybe combine a blog and vlog together. As I have worked with this colleague for 7years this year, it would be nice to see what they get up to on their travels.

Well that’s all she wrote for now, hope everyone has a great year!

So last week , i have had some holiday from work (not that i have gone anywhere) but it is always nice to have some time off and recharge. So this week has literally been watching films/ catching up on TV programmes that i have recorded but not yet had chance to watch.

So this week i have been able to watch Goodnight Mr Tom. An absolute classic set in World War 2 where refugees from London are sent to the country where air raids are least likely to happen. It tells the tale of a old man who comes across as grumpy and bitter towards anyone. When the boy arrives he isn't all to happy that the boy has been placed with him but eventually warms to the boy. Mr Tom finally realises he cares for the boy, when William is asked to go back to London as his mother was ill. Weeks past and not even a letter to Mr Tom on how things are and grows really concerned of Williams welfare, so he plucks up the courage to track the young lad down by travelling to London, only to find something that shocks him to his very core. Luckily William goes back with Mr Tom to his home where he receives love and care for the rest of his life.

I find this film to be very moving. How an old man opens up his home to a young refugee that needs shelter from the air raids that was happening in London at the time and how he eventually opens up his heart also and he admits that he loves the boy and would very much like William to live with him from then on.

So this week i was going to sort out my cupboards and throw anyway all the stuff i no longer need as it is just clutter and taking up room which i need for other things. But i never got round to it and now i have to find another time to do it, hopefully before Christmas i will get round to it.
Today 14/12/18 i managed to get all my Christmas shopping done in less than 2 hrs, which is an absolute record for me. Luckily i have wrote everything down of what and where i will be getting them. Made my life alot easier, as i suffer from anxiety i find shopping in town especially this time of year very stressful and it triggers my anxiety. But i survived. Well I'm off to wrap up these presents and get them ready for delivery/Christmas day.

So who am I?

Well my name is Claire and welcome to this section of the world.

Wow it isn't until you have to write things like this, that you realise that sometimes it is very difficult. I for one hate writing about myself but will give it ago.
So I live in South West of England, which isn't as bad as some people might think. Its not full of farmers.
The reason behind starting a blog well......my absolute dream is to be a writer, always has been and whilst doing some research into achieving my dream, it was advised to start a blog to practise writing on different platforms. So in this blog of mine, I will write about anything and everything. Whether I have watched something, eaten out somewhere or a weekly round up of what has been happening in my day to day life, whilst perfecting my writing ability and eventually achieving my goal.
So as I progress please bare with me and watch this space!
